Happy Anniversary to Us!!

Today is a big day for my husband and I. It's not our wedding anniversary, but it is still a special day for us. A year ago today, we both officially quit smoking. It was one of the hardest things we have done and continue to do.

For anyone who has smoked, you know it can be a constant battle. My husband has told me he would buy a pack of cigarettes today if asked him to. However, I feel at this point we've come too far. Don't get me wrong, I still have cravings, days where I am highly irritated and would love a cigarette. Thing is, if I smoked the cigarette I would be so upset with myself and my stress would still be there. A cigarette wouldn't solve my problems but probably make them worse.

I am sure we will continue to have our struggles with quitting. But I know together we will succeed. Together we have been a success, for officially 1 year today!! And today we shall celebrate :)

Happy Anniversary to us!!

  2. Congratulations! I am 2 weeks away from my 8 year quitting anniversary. It does get easier. There are still days I think about it, but its just a fleeting idea now.

I found your blog on Catch a Wave Wednesday. I am looking forward to more of your posts.

  3. Congrats to you both!!! I smoked for 30 years. I decided i either needed to quit or possibly die before I saw my grand-babies born. I quit last November 22nd and just went off the patch 3 days ago. Patch works great unless you get addicted to it! It was my pacifier. LOL Doing good though, haven't cheated.

Great post and again, congrats to you both. :D

  5. Wow good for you guys, for being there for each other. Like he said, he would do it if you asked... but he isn't because you're not and together you're doing it. That's awesome!
